Implant Dentistry

If you have missing teeth, you may think that traditional dentures or crown and bridgework are your only replacement options. With permanent, attractive dental implants, our cosmetic dentist can replace lost teeth, delivering incredible functionality and results that both look and feel like natural teeth. In fact, dental implants offer patients improved aesthetics, better chewing and speaking capabilities, and increased stability.

  • Dental Implants

Missing teeth can not only make many people self-conscious about smiling or talking, but lost teeth can also affect chewing and speaking. Dental implants allow people who have gaps in their smile because of decay, gum disease, injury, congenital defects, and other reasons to acquire solid, natural-looking replacement teeth. Unlike bridges and dentures, dental implants provide a durable, long-lasting solution for missing teeth. With dental implants, the risk of gum irritation and slippage are reduced because Dr. Sands designs the dental implants specifically for each patient, and the implants become permanent parts of your mouth.

The Dental Implant Procedure
To begin the dental implant procedure, a skilled specialist will place a thin post into the jawbone of the empty tooth socket. Each missing tooth will require one implant post. Over a period of about three to six months, the jawbone fuses with the titanium rod, creating an artificial tooth root. Once the area has healed, Dr. Kevin Sands will attach a custom-made crown that will blend seamlessly with your natural teeth.

Dental implants produce prosthetic teeth that look and feel like those surrounding them, which improves function and enhances the aesthetics of your smile. For a perfect fit, beautiful smile, and a more comfortable alternative to other treatments, Dr. Sands recommends that our patients consider dental implants to replace missing teeth.
